Soon enough, I began to have a deep interest in the medical field but then again I continued to have the same question; how can I afford going to a medical school? I did not know much about college or what it took to get into college. I assumed I just had to have a pretty transcript and that was all it took. My self confidence began to lower as I saw how other students cruised through their high school years so effortlessly. I would bite my tongue and hold in all the unanswered questions I had. My junior year, I was having a very difficult time. I had a tight schedule which consisted of almost all AP or honors courses. I slowly began to give up because I did not believe that I could do it.
I let my grades slip failing almost. Looking at life before graduating high school is scary. It seems like yesterday I was crying because my mom was about to leave me for my first day of preschool. I am about to begin and figure out what life has ahead for me and what my point is in life. To me that's scary. I am excited to see what my point in life is, but at the same time nervous. I have some important advice from my past past experiences to you as a freshman is: Starting a sport to play, Getting involved with clubs, and Being social.
I could not stand it much longer with all the assignments, and the fact that I was going through the same problem as I did back in the earlier years of schooling with my grades and GPA dropping. As the senior year began, I just could not wait to get it all done. Nearing the end of my senior year, I began slipping up academically, which made it nearly impossible to make it to graduation. As graduation day was approaching, anxiety ripped me apart because I knew I messed up academically, but I finished out with a punch. Later, I was informed that I would be walking across that stage.
Graduation day arrives, all the graduating seniors, and myself are gathered within an arena, so many families screaming at the top of their lungs out of excitement. As I am watching the line go in alphabetical order up to the stage to collect their diplomas, I could not help but reminisce upon the moments that made high school what they were. Three years later, I am now back in school watching all the friends that I made in middle school, and high school graduating from college. I am glad I did begin school, even if it was three years.
As the days are getting closer and closer, it's getting sad. I still remember the day I stepped into Maine East High School as a Freshman, at that time, all I wished for was to graduate from this school with good grades. High school was not the way I imagined, it is way different from what I thought and definitely different from Middle School. Freshman year went quickly and then Sophomore year came up. So yeah great start to high school. Supposedly high school is some of the best years of your life.
Freshman year can be hard without any help from friends or upper classes. It is always good to take advice when it is given. Dear Freshman, to be successful and to start your high school experience with a good start, do sports, get to know and connect with teachers and put effort towards classes. I am Olivia Plamann and I am 14 years old. If you saw me the first trait you would notice about me is my height. I get my height from my family. My family consists of my mom: Joy, my dad: Pat, my younger sister: Ella, and my two dogs: Packer and Baxter. My dog, Packer is eight years old, and my dog, Baxter is 3 months old. I am on the Sartell Sabre Dance Team and I also dance at Ms. Between Ms. I realize with time, it will be in the distant past, and seem insignificant to the new stages in my life.
As with any ride, it must come to an end. Once I regain my balance, I will be moving forward to larger, bigger rides. However, the thrills that came with this one will remain. This roller coaster of high school life will be what prepared me for so much more. Take all this into consideration and your high school years will be the best years of your life. Do you believe in bad luck? I'm not talking about just walking under a ladder, or spilling table salt. Rather, sometimes in your life you just run into a tough patch and must persevere through it. This is a very good description of my physical health during my Junior year of high school. You see I broke three bones in a span of 8 weeks, and they were all during athletic endeavors. I broke my right leg playing in a football game, and I broke both bones in my left forearm playing in a basketball game.
I had just returned to school after a long weekend. I scampered excitedly down the linoleum floors of the dimly lit halls of my middle school. I was almost running as I reached the black double doors of the band room which sat at the end of a very long hall. It was her I was looking for, she sat hunched over her game boy her short red hair covered her face. She stood up as I approached, looking up at me with her big eyes, I was happy to see her; I adored her. We had finally exited an awkward phase in our relationship and she agreed to be my girlfriend. We chatted idly as we tipped toed verbally around each other until it was time to go our separate ways, we glanced up and down the halls for signs of authority before parting with a peck. The amount of emotions that you feel on graduation day is unbelievable, and I have yet to experience anything else like it.
I can remember feeling anxious to celebrate the big day with my friends and family, while at the same time I was panicking thinking about having to walk across the stage in front of that many people. Whenever we fail to understand anything, they try to make us understand it again without shouting at us. They give equal attention to all the students, and that is why my school has an excellent academic record. The teachers are well qualified. They use different techniques to teach us the concepts. The atmosphere in the school is fun-filled and fruitful at the same time.
We learn many life skills also in school. Discipline, hard work, and punctuality are some of them. During sports classes, we learn teamwork and work together to win. The best part of my school is its auditorium where all the school events and competitions take place. Our school auditorium is one of the best auditoriums in the town with a great sound and light facility. It is fully air-conditioned with lots of seats. Every year, my school organises an annual cultural festival which lasts for two days. Many cultural events take place within these two days like singing, dancing, debate competition, etc. I love to participate in a poem writing competition every year, and many times I have won prizes as well. Every year, the toppers of our school get awarded on this annual cultural day and we all students love to participate in various events of the annual cultural day.
We also have school assemblies in our Auditorium. Sometimes the students from other schools come and participate in the different competitions organised in our schools. These events are called inter-school competitions. These events are very good as we get to learn new things from other students and make many new friends. Apart from the annual cultural day, my school is famous for organising one of the biggest annual sports meets. I love this annual sports meet because sports are my favourite. In this annual sports meet, various sports competitions are organised, and almost 50 schools participate in these competitions and win multiple titles.
Me, my friends, and our seniors also participate in these competitions and make our school proud by winning in them. The biggest reason behind the success and fame of my school is our Principal Sir. He is 50 years old, yet very active and disciplined. He has an attractive personality, and his knowledge is commendable. He loves all the students and always spare some time from his busy schedule to monitor the progress of all the students. I admire his personality and principles. We all are fortunate to have him as our Principal. Principal sir awards the students who participate and win in different cultural and sports events. He has a good memory and remembers the name of every child. The students feel proud when Principal sir calls them by their names. After each term, assessments are also being conducted in the school.
The teachers prepare us for these assessments, and the results are also shared with the parents. The assessment is a good system as students understand the learning gaps and can work on them. The teachers are very helpful as they assist the students wherever it is required. I love my school and my school life. Every day I learn new things here and enjoy it with my friends. All my teachers love me and always support me. I have learned discipline and punctuality from my teachers, and it will help me a lot in my future. I am proud to be a student at this school, and I will always miss my school after leaving it. My school life has taught me many things and given me some best friends who will be my friends forever.
I wish all the success to my school and love everything about my school life. The different experiences which the students get in school life help them to become better human beings. When they leave school, they are not just taking the memories with them, but they take many friends, a career and good manners for life. It is the first place where the students come out of their family circles and create a new one with their teachers and friends. One should also remember that everyone is not privileged enough to get an education. If one gets this opportunity, then be grateful and work towards being a better human being. Cherish your school life and stay motivated.
High school is such a different experience for everyone. We all take different paths and learn new things everyday. We learn trigonometry, how to fix cars, how to dissect a frog, and different laws in the world. The things we learn in class are very important, but along the way of expanding our educations, one will tend to learn a lot about themselves and others. For me, I feel that my high school experience was not ideal and I constantly complain about the outcome. Looking back in grade eight, I had a different plan for me. It took me up until this year to realize that although my experience was not something worth bragging about, I've learned a lot about who I am.
I've learned to take chances, be patient, and. High school…what is there to say about it? Many students including myself, go through all four years of high school setting goals and standards for themselves after they graduate. Well I can personally tell you that high school was none of that. My transition into high school was as easy as taking a breath. I had always found school quiet easy and I never had to put much effort into getting promising grades. Before high school I had my whole life figured out, or at least I thought I did. I had planned that I would attend a law school or major in English. After a while of being in high school I started to realize many things.
My parents did not have the financial stability to send me to a law school, I was not as smart as all the other kids, little by little I began struggling with a negative mentality about myself and my future. I slowly let go of my dream of becoming a lawyer and decided to join the Health Careers Academy. Soon enough, I began to have a deep interest in the medical field but then again I continued to have the same question; how can I afford going to a medical school?
